The Divine Shepherd (Print)

$18.00$360.00

Imagine yourself in Psalm 23. You know the one. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…” There you stand. Your cup runneth over. Before you is a table, prepared in the presence of your enemies. You are drawn to the valley ahead, though it seems to contain the very shadow of Death within. But you are not afraid. Goodness and mercy are in hot pursuit. Will you stop long enough for them to catch you? Will you lie down in those green pastures? Rest beside the still waters?

Painted live during a 4-part streamed Lenten worship series, this painting depicts the famous biblical passage from from Psalm 23. The original is on permanent loan to Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

All proceeds from the sale of prints go towards programming at Limen Place, a new worshipping community for which Highland is a partner congregation.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.
